New Rates of National Minimum Wage

A brief reminder of forthcoming increases to the National Minimum Wage and other employment rates.

 From 1 April 2026, the National Minimum Wage increases as follows:

Rates -

National Living Wage (age 21+)

2025 - £12.21 2026 - £12.71

Development rate (age 18-20)

2025 - £10.00 2026 - £10.85

Young workers rate (age 16-17)

2025 - £7.55 2026 - £8.00

Apprentice rate

2025 - £7.55 2026 - £8.00

From 6 April 2026, the weekly rate of statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay will increase to £194.32.

From 6 April 2026, statutory sick pay will increase to £123.25 per week and the cap on one week’s pay for calculating statutory redundancy payments will increase to £751.
