The new Data Protection Act and the European General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) affect all businesses, both large and small, that process personal data. Since April 2018, all businesses handling personal data should have carried out risk assessments to determine what personal data they are receiving, how they process it and how they secure that data, as well as having documented internal processes to ensure the security of the data.
